Marriage Relationships - Sleeping Your Way To A Better Marriage Relationship

Do you know how you do not function as well when you are tired? Fatigue is a common problem and there are numerous causes of fatigue. When you are exhausted you are not at your best physically, emotionally or mentally. Over time, it not only takes a toll on your work-life, but also on your sex life and marriage relationship. Read on to discover 15 ways that you can get more sleep.

Sleep Deprivation

You cannot perform your best when you are sleep deprived. You are more likely to make mistakes at your job. At home, you may be more irritable and may not be able to solve problems as effectively. What most people do not realize is that fatigue is one of the most common causes of decreased sex drive.

In our fast-paced society, seven or eight hours of sleep may seem like an expendable commodity. You may get by with little sleep for a while, but eventually it does catch up with you.

Here are 15 tips to help you get more sleep:

1.Have a reasonable bedtime.

2.Go to bed at the same time every night.

3.Develop a bedtime routine.

4.Keep the bedroom dark.

5.Start a regular exercise routine but do not exercise within a few hours of bedtime.

6.Avoid caffeine, decongestants or alcohol within 4-6 hours of bedtime.

7.Limit your fluid intake a few hours before bedtime.

8.Use white noise to mask any neighborhood noises.

9.Do not use the bedroom for anything besides sex and sleeping.

10.Dont look at your watch during the night. You usually just get more anxious about not sleeping.

11.Do progressive relaxation exercises.

12.Mediate or pray before going to sleep.

13.If you are having trouble sleeping at night, then avoid daytime naps.

14.Gradually dim the lights in the evening before going to bed.

15.If you find that you have trouble turning your mind off at night, then write down things that you are worried about before you go to bed. Sometimes writing in a journal can help you let go of the problems and go to sleep.

Sleeping Your Way to a Better Marriage

Getting more sleep will not solve serious relationship issues, but fatigue does strain your marriage. If you have more energy, you may be surprised how much your sex life improves. Also, your communication may improve because you are less snappy and able to listen more effectively to your partner.

Making sure you get a good night sleep is one simple thing that you can do toward making a positive change in your relationship.
